OpenBook Learning Inc. offers in-house technical support for all our learning products. We're here to help you install the product, learn more about OpenBook curriculum, features, and functions, and to help you if you make changes to your server or network configurations.
OpenBook software can be installed in a variety of environments. The most typical installation is client-server.
Is OpenBook web based?
Computer support professionals know that the most interactive programs, for example programs that run on Playstations, Wii, xboxes, and the high-level game programs, all require local computing power and won’t run just in a browser.
Your students know the best programs don't run over the web -- which is why they shop at stores like GameStop.
Browser-based programs are often graphically sophisticated but are severely limited in interactivity by bandwidth limits. Many are good, useful, and easy to install, but your computer professional staff know these don't have the interactive capacity of OpenBook and other highly user-responsive programs
We run similarly to the best game programs with about 2.6 gigs of locally installed content.
And, yes, we no longer require client-server installations. You can run OpenBook activated by the web outside of a client-server environment.
